Here are the notes from a recent sermon (based on Galatians Ch. 2) dealing with the way that we can be robbed of our freedoms as Christians - by our fellow Christians.
TWO WARNINGS: Firstly, these are only outline notes of the message - this is not an article or essay that reads smoothly. Secondly, some Christians might be mightily put out by some of the thoughts contained in this message (when I preached this message, some people were very put out, and others were very appreciative).
Have you ever heard someone say, 'We all have faith - for example, we all have faith in the chairs we are sitting on'? Of course, we all think that this example is a pretty poor illustration of what faith involves, don't we?
The Deity of Christ
Here are a number of Bible verses showing the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ:
We are going to look at six principles of guidance:
Prayer: We need to ask for God's guidance. In Colossians 1:9, Paul wrote: ‘we do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding'. Looking to God is prayer should not be a hasty, rash or spur of the moment business. Rather, we should patiently wait upon God in prayer, looking to Him to guide us in His good time: ‘ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you' (Matthew 7:7).
